Transplant Information

Emerson was diagnosed with Intestinal Failure and flown to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, for evaluation.  Doctors there performed a life-saving multi organ transplant on June 19, 2008.  She received a new liver, pancreas, & small intestine.  They also removed most of her large intestine, half her stomach, and all her spleen.  The surgery will require us (Emerson & Mommy) to stay in Omaha a minimum of 6 months post-transplant for close monitoring & follow-up care.
