WOW - & I thought no one would be reading my posts at the beginning of a holiday week. Just goes to show you how much, once again, I’ve underestimated our faithful & generous friendsJ. I’m in awe of your overwhelming response. Thank you.
To Katie: thank you for ALWAYS being available & ready to jump in with both feet – thank you for being so organized and so pro-active. If anyone can get it done, you will!
To Melanie: thank you for arranging to have a complete Thanksgiving meal delivered to the apartment on Thursday. What an amazing gift – you knew exactly what I needed before I ever even asked!
To Amy: thank you for just being you. You’re always there to listen & you always know how to help. The events you’ve organized & the money you’ve raised has helped more than you’ll ever know. I’d have lost it a lot sooner without you! Thank you for also reminding me that God is always holding my hand.
To Noelle (a fellow transplant mom): you’re right, I need people to just show up. You know the difference between “call me” & “I’ll be there tomorrow”. It’s exhausting & overwhelming to call people (seems simple, but nothing is simple these days). Thank you for reminding everyone of that! To all who want to help: it’s true also that I haven’t posted my address here & I won’t. We all know this forum is open to everyone & some less than supportive people visit – we’ve all read their posts. I know the vast majority of you are genuine & well-meaning. I just can’t take any chances & hope you all understand.
To everyone else (& there are so many): thank you for offering to help, for offering to send grocery gift cards, for sending zhu zhu hamsters, for loving my little girl, for lifting me up, for following along for so long… you’ve enriched my life & have brought meaning to this journey. I’ve left off so many names. Please know, though, I love & value you all!
There’s so much more I want to say, but for now I’ve got to get back to work. I promise to be in touch with all who’ve offered to help & I’ll try to look at the calendar Katie created today so she can get that on-line as well.
Thank you for giving me permission to ask for help & thank you for being there when I need it most… in any way you can. If it takes a village to raise a “normal” child, it could well take several states to raise Emerson!
